Instead of recycling the hottest hits on the web like I usually do (lies), I decided to excavate my web hang spots and share my favs with you. For this edition of Christian BC’s Best Of (get it?) I chose YouTube and a few of my favorited vidzz.
Nicholas Cage – Sankyo Pachinko ad
I first premiered this on my Nick Cage blog but that was some time ago and no one ever goes there so I can’t let it wither and die. Now, most of these Japanese celeb commercials are great (especially the ones starring Arnold Schwarzenegger) but this one is truly the best for no other reason than it showcases the genius of the Cage better than any of his cinematic masterpieces ever could.
the bird and the bee – Polite Dance Song
This is a great song topped only by a great video directed by Eric Wareheim of Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job and Tom Goes To The Mayor fame. You’ll recognize a familiar face or two from the T & A ugly people gallery cuttin’ a rug, and those attractive, listless folks to the left playing the instruments are the band.
Steve D’Monster – Lip Sync… Three
Fat kid and puppet lip sync to a Chipmunks song. It doesn’t get much better.
Tom Waits For No One
Like the other videos, this is the bomb multiple reasons. The first is because it’s Tom Waits. It doesn’t get much cooler than that. The second is because it’s an animated music video/short film based on the song starring Tom Waits. And third, because they use rotoscoping. That can even make Charles Schwab cool.
Well, that’s it for this edition. Who knows what I’ll share with you next time. For now, puroose these great YouTube accounts at your leisure for many more bangarang flicks:
