Hey, just a brief update on the weirdness surrounding my latest 10 Minute Mix. Basically, as soon as it was uploaded it was instantly blocked by YouTube’s automated copyright protection software which said it had detected the song “Untrust Us” by Crystal Castles. This struck me as odd, because I really didn’t see Crystal Castles or their record label having an issue with this kind of thing. As it turns out, they don’t: “crystal castles or lies records (the label that released the album) has nothing to do with your video being pulled. we would never do that,” said Andy of Lies Records.
Anywho, the video is still up, so I guess that means my dispute on the grounds of fair use was accepted. Either that or they haven’t gotten around to checking on my case. Whatever. Bottom line is, Crystal Castles are still the people’s friend.
